Ok, hopefully nobody minds this:

For those Amtgarders that don't already know Covina, her LJ is afura and she is about to step up as the next Monarch of Neverwinter in just a few short weeks. Considering I've got piles of folks on my friends list with not only years upon years of Amt-experience, but with years of experience in Kingdom offices, I thought I'd do some introductions. Hopefully you guys won't mind sharing some words o' wisdom with her. For example:

What were some of your experiences in office? What worked? What do you wish you had handled differently? What do you think people expect from a Monarch? If you haven't held a Kingdom office, what do you expect from your officers? What works in your Kingdom and what do you wish you could change?

So. Everyone, meet Covina. Covina, this is everyone.

Chicken & 40 Cloves of Garlic

Chicken and 40 Cloves of Garlic

First things first, familiarize yourself with James Beard's recipe as well as Ina Garten's version...Collapse )

And since this is a repeat for my friend's list, here:
Camerones Enchipotlados (Also excellent: Sear cubed pork loin and then simmer in the chipotle sauce until tender.)

Cheesecake. I can't help it if some people can't make it...this, however, is the recipe, although I believe in recent years I've returned to 1/2 cup of almonds instead of the macadamia nuts in the crust.

Free Dog Food - Donation

Ok, if you live near a Publix and can do this today, print a couple of these coupons (take the quiz, print the coupon, back the browser up a couple of pages and print another before it tells you you've reached your limit) then go to Publix and buy two bags of Beneful while its buy one get one free. Basically, the two bags cost $5.50, and you get $7.00 back thanks to the coupons.

Then take the bags of dog food Publix just paid you to buy and donate them to your local Humane Society (or if you're local to Tampa, bring them to me and I'll take them to donate when we take our donation).

I think when I notice these coupon combos posted that make items free, I'll get them. Even if we can't use them, someone would love the donation, right?

Shrimp in Chipotle Sauce

I nearly forgot to post this for you, Weilok. I'm sorry!

Diana Kennedy's Camarones Enchipotlados:Collapse )

Way way back in the day, years ago, when Falling Fire still not only held FWACT but it was still at the YMCA camp...we all camped. Yes it was hot as balls, and we spent more time sweating to death in our tents than actually getting any sleep, but we camped. We built a giant bonfire in the middle of the hottest part of summer, and you know what? We sat around it. We passed the drinks around. We told stories.

Hell, some of my fonder memories are of that damned bonfire.
